I have my Paypal account but it is not yet verified. I can’t very my Paypal account now because I don’t have credit card. But I have Smart Money Card bearing with the logo of MasterCard. Can I use it to verify my Paypal account?

Answer:

First you need to check your Smart Money Card if it is really bearing with the MasterCard logo or with the MasterCard Electronic Logo. You need to know that MasterCard and MasterCard Electronic are two different cards just like the VISA and the VISA Electron.

Now, if your Smart Money Card is a MasterCard Electronic Card then you can’t use it to verify your Paypal account because based on my knowledge, you can only use VISA and MasterCard (without Electron or Electronics) for the Paypal verification. On the other hand, if your Smart Money card is a MasterCard (without Electronic) Card then, you can use it to verify your Paypal account.

But if you’ll ask me whether to use the Smart Money Card with MasterCard (without Electronic) logo in verifying your Paypal, then my answer is, you better use the MasterCard or VISA Credit Card or the debit card from Union bank, the EON Card.

Why? It’s because verifying your Paypal account using the Smart Money MasterCard Card is too expensive. You’ll be spending $1 everytime you unlock your card for the internet transaction use and PhP2.50 Smart Cellphone load in every text you send.
