24 Oras Features Charice Home Tagaytay

Pinay international singing sensation–Charice–appeared in hologram effect on kapuso news program “24 Oras.”

In the Chika Minute segment of 24 Oras, Charice shows her new house in Tagaytay and toured 24 Oras reporter Nelson Canlas inside.

Charice shared that the house in Tagaytay is her surprise gift to her mom last Mother’s Day. She showed some appliances and stuff that she bought and said that she couldn’t ask for more.

“Too much na po sa amin ito, ok na po sa amin ito,” she said.

The music video of Charice‘s international single “Pyramid” debuted at no. 1 on Yahoo Music Videos last July 1 beating Miley Cyrus’ Can’t be tamed and Lady Gaga’s Alejandro.

The pride of the Philippines will return to the US to prepare for her role in the popular tv series “Glee.”

John Carlo de Vera, better known by his screen name J.C. de Vera (born March 10, 1986 in Manila), is one of TV5′s prized possessions. From being GMA’s drama prince, JC faced his crossroads and transferred to the kapatid network.

He is currently seen on the gag show “Lokomoko U,” the variety show “PO5″ and his drama anthology “5 Star Specials.”

He is co-starring with Sarah Geronimo, Judy Ann Santos and Luis Manzano in the upcoming Viva Films movie “Hating Kapatid.”

The Karate Kid at the Top Spot of The Box Office

The 2010 remake of the martial arts film for the whole family, The Karate Kid, takes the top spot of the box office chart on its opening weekend by earning an impressive $56 million after earning $15,288 on each of its 3,663 screens which is much more than the $35.4 million that the film had been predicted to make. The Karate Kid stars Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith (son of Will Smith). Aside from the said movie, The A-Team which was only previously predicted to hit the top of the chart got only on the 2nd spot, earning a $26 million opening.

Here are the complete top 10 of the weekend box office chart:

Pilipinas Got Talent Winner Jovit Baldivino

16-year-old siomai vendor from Batangas, Jovit Baldivino, is the first grand winner of “Pilipinas Got Talent” (PGT) on ABS-CBN.

Jovit, a YouTube sensation and crowd favorite, got 48.81% or almost half of the total votes, besting 11 other finalists for the P2 million cash prize.

The Velasco Brothers and Baguio Metamorphosis both made it to the Top 3. Each got P100,000. The remaining 9 finalists, on the other hand, each got P50,000.00.

Here is the ranking of the 12 grand finalists based on percentage of votes they received:

1. Jovit Baldivino – 48.81%

(15.39%, 7.27%)
4. Ingrid Payaket – 5.87%

2010 Shanghai International Song Festival Vehnee Saturno & Lourden Panganiban

Songwriter Vehnee Saturno and up and coming talent Lourden Panganiban both bagged the top awards at the 2010 Shanghai International Song Festival in China.

Lourden won the Grand Prize in the Best Interpreter category, besting 31 singers from 17 other countries. She sang “Within,” Vehnee Saturno’s composition, which was named “Best Song.” Lourden won $5000 while Saturno took home $2,000 for his composition.

Vehnee revealed that Lourden was only his second choice to interpret his song “Within.” However, the first artist who was supposed to interpret the song backed out at the last minute and Lourden filled up the slot.

Each of the 31 contestants were asked to sing three set of songs in groups of three where the judges picked the 15 semi-finalists. From the 15, they picked 10 who advanced to the finals.
